  • Easton Gateway breaks ground

    Columbus, Ohio — Steiner + Associates, The Georgetown Co. and Limited Brands have broken ground on Easton Gateway, a 54-acre addition to Easton Town Center.

    Nearly 15 years after Easton Town Center opened, Easton Gateway will introduce a number of noteworthy additions to the master-planned community, including new brands and big box retail.

  • Charter to broker Dollar Tree and Dressbarn in Connecticut

    New York -- Dollar Tree and Dressbarn have named Charter Realty and Development as the exclusive broker in Connecticut.

    Dollar Tree, a Fortune 500 company with approximately 4,700 stores looks for 8,000- to 12,000-sq.-ft. spaces. Dollar Tree is also looking for locations in freestanding strip malls and power centers.

  • Jared leases three stores in Texas

    Dallas — Jared, The Galleria of Jewelry, has signed leases for new locations in Lubbock, Corpus Christi and Midland, Texas, according to Venture Commercial Real Estate, which represented Jared in the transactions. All locations are under construction and expected to open soon.

  • Bassett Place opens Premiere/IMAX

    Dallas — The new IMAX Theatre will open at Premiere Cinema IMAX at Bassett Place in El Paso, Texas, on Nov. 21. The new IMAXS screen replaces two standard screen auditoriums. The theater also needed a new 45-ft. high roof to accommodate the new technology. The El Paso location will have one of the largest IMAX theatres in Texas, with a screen 70-ft. long by five stories tall.

  • Trabocco Kitchen signs into Alameda South Shore

    Alameda, Calif. — Trabocco Kitchen and Cocktails, a new restaurant founded by Alameda residents Chef Giuseppe Naccarelli, a native of Palombaro, Italy, and his wife Christine, will open Nov. 18 at South Shore Center in Alameda. The 4,700-sq.-ft. restaurant is located in Center Court, the shopping center’s main plaza.

  • Paula Deen to open store in Buffalo suburb

    New York -- Embattled Southern celebrity chef Paula Deen is opening a headquarters and store in Clarence, N.Y., a suburb of Buffalo, this February. The shop, Paula Deen Foods, will include a showroom designed to resemble Deen's home kitchen and offer products from her branded line of goods.

  • Poll: Retailers expect shoppers earlier this year

    North Plainfield, N.J. — Levin Management’s annual pre-holiday retail sentiment survey has found that retailers expect consumers to begin their holiday shopping sooner this year. Specifically, Levin said that 43.3% of responding retailers believe that holiday sales will peak prior to and during the Thanksgiving/Black Friday weekend sales period.

    Only 13.5% believe that sales will peak later — during the weekend before Christmas, a significant drop from last year’s 29.2%.

  • Lane Bryant opens three new stores

    Suffern, N.Y. — Lane Bryant has opened new stores in Kentucky, New Jersey and Texas. The Kentucky store is located at The Shoppes at Gary Farms in Bowling Green. In New Jersey, the new Lane Bryant has opened at Willow Ridge Plaza in Marlton. The third location is in the Chimney Rock Shopping Center in Odessa, Texas.

    Lane Bryant is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ascena Retail Group.
