    Washington, D.C. -- A first-of-its-kind document could go a long way toward cementing the sustainability relationship between retailer tenants and their shopping center landlords.

  • Rick Puttkammer returns to Colliers

    San Diego -- The San Diego office of Colliers International has announced that Rick Puttkammer is rejoining the firm as a senior VP. A 25-year veteran in retail property sales and leasing, Puttkammer will head up the firm’s retail division.

    Most recently, Puttkammer was senior VP at Flocke & Avoyer in San Diego. From 1987 to 1997, he was senior marketing director at Colliers in San Diego.

     

  • Togo’s grows into Utah with six new restaurants

    San Jose, Calif. -- Togo’s Eateries has announced a multi-unit franchise agreement in Utah. Six new franchised restaurants will open in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area beginning in first quarter 2014. The agreement accompanies Togo’s commitment to grow from 250 to 400 restaurants.

    Togo’s average unit sales exceed $633,000 with more than half of the restaurants averaging over $799,000.

  • Kite Realty begins renovation of Naples, Fla., center

    Naples, Fla. -- Kite Realty Group Trust has begun work on a $10 million renovation of the 85,497-sq.-ft. Kings Lake Square in Naples, Fla.

    The renovation will demolish the center’s Publix anchor and construct a new 45,000-sq.-ft. new Publix. Additional work includes renovated shop facades new sidewalks, a new parking lot, site lighting and landscaping.

    Publix will close this month and reopen the new store next spring. All other tenants will remain open during the renovation.

  • New York & Company inks deal for Somerset

    Bridgewater, N.J. -- Women’s apparel retailer, New York & Company, has taken 7,440 sq. ft. in the Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater, N.J., according to Levin Management, the property’s leasing and managing agent.

    The lease brings the 214,202-sq.-ft. center to full occupancy.

     

  • Foot Locker acquires Runners Point Group in Germany

    New York -- Foot Locker has completed the acquisition of Runners Point Group, a specialty athletic store and online retailer based in Recklinghausen, Germany.

    With 200 stores located principally in Germany under the Runners Point and Sidestep banners and online business, Runners Point Group will boost Foot Locker’s European store count to 800 and add $254 million to the company’s European revenues of more than $1 billion.

     

  • CBRE brokers sale of Houston-area center

    Houston -- CBRE’s national retail investment group has arranged the sale of Sheldon Forest Shopping Center in Channelview, Texas, east of Houston, on behalf of Weingarten Realty Investors.

    Gerland’s Food Fair anchors the 97,380-sq.-ft. center. Major tenants include Family Dollar and Burke’s Outlet. Both Phase I and II of the center are 100% occupied.

    Capcor Partners purchased the property for an undisclosed price.

     

  • West Elm makes Missouri debut in St. Louis

    Brooklyn, N.Y. -- West Elm is opening its first location in Missouri – at the St. Louis Galleria.

    The 8,385-sq.-ft. store, slated to open in July, will incorporate works by local artists as part of its plan to support St. Louis talent.

    “Our customers are as passionate about supporting artists in their local communities as we are at West Elm,” said Jim Brett, president of West Elm. “We are proud to be incorporating some of St. Louis’ most talented artists into the assortment for our new store.”

  • Next-gen Build-A-Bear opens in Easton Town Center

    Columbus, Ohio -- Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. has relocated to open a next-generation store in Easton Town Center’s new 40,000-sq.-ft. family friendly Fenlon Square, according to Stein + Associates and The Georgetown Company co-developers of Easton Town Center.

  • Destination Maternity flagship to open in Virginia Beach

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Destination Maternity Corp. has leased 5,033 sq. ft. for a new flagship store in The Town Center of Virginia Beach, according to Divaris Real Estate.

    Motherhood Maternity will close all of its locations in Southside Hampton Roads and move into the new Destination Maternity in September. The new store will carry all of the retailers concepts including Motherhood Maternity and A Pea in the Pod.
