A hot online resale market is popping up for licensed Nike Kobe Bryant paraphernalia.

According to MarketWatch, speculative resellers are already capitalizing on the untimely accidental death of retired Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant on Sunday, Jan. 26. Nike.com had completely sold out of all official Bryant products, such as sneakers and jerseys, by Tuesday, Jan. 28. Nike held an exclusive endorsement deal with Bryant for athletic apparel and accessories.

Although some official Bryant merchandise is still available online and in-store from other retailers, MarketWatch reports that Bryant products were being resold on consignment retail sites such as eBay and StockX at up to 6x markup from the original price.

An NPD Group analyst was quoted as saying that since sales of Bryant merchandise had slowed since his 2016 retirement, Nike likely did not have a large amount of his products in stock.
