Dog Haus to make Ventura County debut

2/20/2015

Thousand Oaks, Calif. -- Gourmet hot dog and burger concept Dog Haus will open its fifth franchise location in Thousand Oaks, California, on Feb. 21.

The Los Angeles-based brand is making its Ventura County debut at 50 East Thousand Oaks Blvd. in a former Denny’s space. Franchisee owners are Paul Homayoun and Gina Candari; the Thousand Oaks unit will be Dog Haus’s eighth location.

The emerging restaurant brand was founded by André Vener, Hagop Giragossian and Quasim Riaz in 2010. It is designed to elevate the nostalgic experience of eating a hot dog or burger, and that is reflected in the concept’s aesthetic. After ordering at the counter, diners gather around communal-style tables outfitted with bar stools or at cozier tables made from wood and steel that span the perimeter of the 1,400-sq.-ft. restaurant. Striking red and black accents and playful expressions such as “The Absolute Würst” and “Sweet Buns” peppered throughout the restaurant enliven both the interior and exterior seating area of the stand-alone restaurant, bringing a modern sensibility to the classic concept.
