Mid-America signs several large leases across Great Lakes region

Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. -- Mid-America Asset Management announced that among the new leases the firm has signed in July and August, there were several large transactions spread across Chicagoland, Southeast Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana.



In Aurora, Ill., home furnishings retailer Premier Furniture Outlet leased 38,975 sq. ft. at Aurora Marketplace, opening in September 1. Anchors include Sports Authority and Hobby Lobby.



The Futon Factory leased 11,000 sq. ft. at Edison Park, an 87,788-sq.-ft. shopping center located in Mishawaka, Ind., a suburb of South Bend. The store opened September 1, having relocated from a nearby site, and joins anchors Starz Academy, Interim Healthcare, India Garden, Lincare and Faith World Outreach.



In Algonquin, Ill., Five Below leased 8,000 sq. ft. at Oakridge Court and opened in August. Oakridge Court is a 289,178-sq.-ft. shopping center anchored by J.C. Penney, Toys “R” Us, Babies “R” Us and TJ Maxx.



In Kenosha, Wis., Tuesday Morning leased 10,400 sq. ft. at Southport Plaza, with plans to open in fall 2011. Meanwhile, renewing leases at the center were OfficeMax for 23,370 sq. ft., Petco for 17,600 sq. ft., and Subway for 1,200 sq. ft.



D & E Laundry signed a lease for 5,026 sq. ft. at Howard & Western Shopping Center, in Chicago, and is now open for business. And Arthur Murray Dance Studio signed a lease for 3,200 sq. ft. to open its 11th location at Regency Place in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., in October.
