REDEVELOPMENT: Centro Properties Group, New York City, will renovate and redevelop Surrey Square Mall in Norwood, Ohio, converting a partially enclosed mall into a multi-anchored community center that will feature a new 76,000-sq.-ft. Kroger.  

ACQUISITIONS: CBL & Associates Properties, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois have formed a 50/50 joint venture to acquire a portfolio of retail and office buildings in North Carolina, including The Shops at Friendly Center in Greensboro and Renaissance Center in Durham. … Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle has agreed to acquire the assets of The Standard Group, Chicago, a retail transaction-management firm.

REAL ESTATE SERVICES: Barnes & Noble has retained Charlotte, N.C.-based AMTdirect to manage all of the chain’s real estate holdings … Melville, N.Y.-based DJM Realty will manage the national disposition of all 335 Bombay Co. retail and DC leases. … GeoVue, Woburn, Mass., has been retained by Sagittarius Brands for location optimization services for the Del Taco and Captain D’s chains. … New York City-based RCS Real Estate Advisors has successfully auctioned 25 Marsh Supermarkets fee-owned properties, raising about $12 million.
