Taubman’s Michigan shopping centers designated ‘stormready’

5/6/2013

Bloomfield Hills, Mich. -- Taubman said that all four of its shopping centers in the state of Michigan -- Fairlane Town Center, Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, The Mall at Partridge Creek and Twelve Oaks Mall – have received StormReady designation from the National Weather Service, a component of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Earning the StormReady designation indicates that each center has done everything possible to improve emergency first responder and citizen preparedness in the event of a natural disaster. The program arms communities and facilities with improved communication and safety skills needed to save lives and property before and during a hazardous weather event.

“Becoming StormReady is an important way of looking out for the safety of our shoppers,” says Dave Harris, VP, regional management/center operations for Taubman.

The Mall at Partridge Creek was the first shopping center in the country to receive StormReady designation, in 2009, and only the second facility in Michigan, after Detroit Metro Airport. The three other Taubman centers in Michigan recently received StormReady designation as well.
