Topshop to open Fifth Avenue flagship; four other U.S. stores

London – Trendy British retailer Topshop/Topman plans to open a 40,000-sq-ft. flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York. The new Manhattan store will be located on the corner of 49th Street, and is adjacent to Rockefeller Center.



The store will open in fall 2014, and several hundred new jobs will be created including in the company's new U.S. head office operations, based in New York. The upper levels of the store will feature art deco detailing, while the lower floors will transition to the contemporary style. There with be continuous glazing on both levels, purposely created to allow dynamic window displays and creating a wrap-around dramatic impact.



Topshop and Topman will expand further within the U.S. with four additional new store openings across the country – Topshop and Topman joint stores in Fashion Valley San Diego (17,500 sq. ft.), and a stand-alone Topshop in Springfield Town Center Washington (5,000 sq. ft.) in the fall of 2014 and Topshop and Topman joint stores in Galleria Mall Houston (16,500 sq. ft.) and Lennox Square Mall Atlanta (15,500 sq. ft.) slated for spring 2015.



International franchise expansion of the Topshop and Topman brands will lead to a planned 15 stores in eight countries by summer 2014, including Russia, Turkey and Vietnam.
