Reese Witherspoon-founded Draper James streamlines fulfillment

A fashion brand founded by an Academy Award-winning actress is automating key supply chain processes with a third-party logistics (3PL) platform.

Draper James, founded by actress, producer and entrepreneur Reese Witherspoon (who won an Oscar for her performance in “Walk the Line”), has selected Cart.com as its U.S. fulfillment partner. The company will utilize Cart.com’s logistics network and 3PL capabilities in an effort to simplify omnichannel fulfillment, improve customer experience, and achieve real-time order and inventory visibility, all with the ultimate goal of meet ingincreasing consumer demand.

Draper James will deploy Cart.com technology including its Constellation order management system (OMS) and warehouse management solution, as well as ither hosted automated omnichannel logistics systems. Cart.com also operates 14 distribution centers across the U.S.

Witherspoon founded Draper James in 2015 and named it after her grandmother, Dorothea Draper, and her grandfather, William James Witherspoon. 

The company operates three brick-and-mortar retail stores including its Nashville flagship (Witherspoon’s hometown), Lexington, Ky., and an outpost at the Nashville International Airport, as well as an e-commerce site. In addition, Draper James exclusively launched the Draper James RSVP line in 500 Kohl’s stores and on the department store retailer’s website in 2022.

New York-based brand management company Bluestar Alliance also recently partnered with Cart.com to host omnichannel workflows including fulfillment, inventory management, and order management for its portfolio brands Scotch & Soda, Hurley and Bebe.
