  • Rappaport signs trio of 7-Eleven deals in Washington, D.C., area

    McLean, Va. --  Rappaport has signed three new 7-Eleven deals in the Washington, D.C., area totaling 9,471 sq. ft. of retail space. 7-Eleven will open new locations inside The Shops of Avondale in Washington D.C., 2001 Clarendon Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia, and 6138 Kings Highway in Alexandria, Virginia.
         

  • Velocity Retail Group secures At Home store for Arizona Mills

    Phoenix -- X Team International partner Velocity Retail Group has completed a lease with At Home for a 104,967-sq.-ft. store in Tempe, Arizona. The new At Home concept is owned and operated by home décor retailer Garden Ridge.
         
    A décor superstore that provides selections of patio furniture, wall décor, and decorative accents, rugs and housewares, At Home recently opened at Arizona Mills, a Simon shopping center located at the northeast corner of Baseline Road and Interstate 10.

  • Salon Plaza to open at Worldgate Centre

    Herndon, Va. -- Salon Plaza has leased a 7,659-sq.-ft. endcap space next to McAlister’s Deli at Worldgate Centre in Herndon and plans to open in fall 2014. This will be the salon chain’s 21st location nationwide.

    Kristin Perry of Rappaport represented the landlord in the transaction. Worldgate Centre features an AMC Theatre and fitness club Sport and Health. Co-tenants include TGI Friday’s, Starbucks, Tara Thai, FedEx Kinkos, Vocelli Pizza and Cold Stone Creamery.

     

     

  • Boutique brand Hotel Indigo will make a home at Celebration Pointe

    Gainesville, Fla. -- Hip hotel brand Hotel Indigo has inked a deal to open a 120-room boutique property at mixed-use project Celebration Pointe, in Gainesville, Florida. The InterContinental Hotel Group’s banner will bring boutique style to a neighborhood that has garnered attention for its urban style, featuring a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere, inspired architectural features and abundant green space.

  • Chipotle to open at RockPlaza Lofts in Newark

    New York — Winick Realty Group has leased 2,200 sq. ft. for Chipotle Mexican Grill at 222 Market Street, part of the RockPlaza Lofts residential and commercial development in Newark, New Jersey.

    Chipotle is the first national quick-service restaurant to open in Downtown Newark in decades, according to Winick. The new unit is located near Seaton Hall University Law School and the Prudential Center, home of the NHL hockey team New Jersey Devils.

     

  • Cohen Real Estate adds two new broker hires

    New York — Retail brokerage firm Cohen Real Estate has added two new members to its brokerage team, augmenting the firm’s presence in New York City.

    Guy Saban joins Cohen as investment sales broker, and will provide real estate advisory and investment services to buyers and sellers who are seeking to expand, optimize, and/or diversify their real estate portfolios.

    Max Garelick joins as real estate associate, and will work alongside Cohen VP Michael Cleeman to market retail, mixed-use and multi-family properties in Manhattan.

  • Glimcher names VP development/anchor leasing

    Columbus, Ohio — Glimcher Realty Trust announced that Scott Barrett has been appointed to the role of VP development – anchor leasing. In this role, Barrett will lead the development, leasing and design activity associated with anchor, big-box and peripheral land deals across the portfolio.

  • Phillips-Edison acquires Colorado shopping center

    Cincinnati -- Phillips Edison-ARC Grocery Center REIT II Inc. has acquired Kipling Marketplace, adding a property in Colorado to the company's portfolio. Kipling Marketplace is a 90,124-sq.-ft. grocery store-anchored shopping center located in Littleton, Colorado, part of the Denver metropolitan statistical area.

    Kipling Marketplace is anchored by a Safeway grocery store, the number two grocer in the Denver area. Other national and regional tenants at the center include Sylvan Learning, Dairy Queen, Cost Cutters, and H&R Block.

     

  • Report: New retail center planned for Kalamazoo

    Kalamazoo, Mich. – A $2.2 million, 23,000-sq.-ft. retail center is reportedly planned for Kalamazoo, Michigan. According to the Kalamazoo Gazette, developer Habib Mandwee plans to open the center in a downtown area next to a location where Kalamazoo Valley Community College wants to build a health-focused campus.

    Tenants for the retail center include Biggby Coffee and On the Rocks Market, with room for four other retailers. Developers hope to start construction in spring 2015 with a fall 2015 completion target.

  • CVS enters Seattle market

    Woonsocket, R.I. – CVS/pharmacy launched its entrance into the Seattle market with the grand opening of a new location in the city of Renton, the first CVS/pharmacy in the state of Washington. In addition to the new store in Renton, the company will open two more Seattle-area stores in 2014 and will open its first store in the city of Seattle next summer.

    With its entrance into Seattle, CVS/pharmacy now has a presence in all 20 top drugstore markets in the U.S. The Renton store is one of the first tobacco-free CVS locations in the U.S.
