  • Triangle Equities hits milestones in Bronx development

    Bronx, N.Y. — Triangle Equities has reached several milestones in the development of the $35 million, 88,000-sq.-ft. Triangle Plaza Hub at 149th Street in Bronx, New York. The development aims to help revitalize a generally underserved area with a mixed-use commercial and community facility located at a transit center that serves 200,000 people daily. Vista Optical has also leased space.

    To date, Triangle’s accomplishments include signing two key anchor tenants: Fine Far supermarket and Metropolitan College of New York.

  • Online retailer Gypsy05 to open stores

    Los Angeles -- Another online retailer is taking the brick-and-mortar plunge. California lifestyle brand Gypsy05 announced it will open its first two retail locations at the end of this month. After nearly 10 years of business, the brand has decided to open branded Gypsy05 retail stores, in Beverly Hills, and in the Malibu Country Mart in Malibu, California. The brand is set to open a third location, in Orange County, California, later this year, but real estate negotiations have not been completed.

  • Trademark appoints Toppel executive VP

    Fort Worth, Texas – Trademark Property Co. has named Steven W. Toppel to the post of executive VP. Toppel will begin his new role June 3.
     
    With more than 28 years of experience in commercial real estate, Toppel will oversee leasing for Trademark’s portfolio of lifestyle centers, malls, and mixed-use developments.

  • SRS wins U.S. MAXI Award at ICSC

    DallasSRS Real Estate Partners earned a silver U.S. MAXI Award at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas during the ICSC RECon Convention. The awards are open to shopping centers, shopping center companies, specialty retailers, specialty leasing managers, marketing directors and general managers.

    SRS received a silver Award in the B2B division of the Traditional Marketing category for its effective brand enhancement campaign.

     

  • Infinite Beauty to Manhattan

    New York — Skincare specialist Infinite Beauty has leased its first New York City location at 1031 Third Avenue and 61st Street, according to Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group, which represented both the landlord and tenant in the transaction.

    The retailer has stores in affluent areas along the east and west coasts, from Boca Raton, Fla., to Annapolis, Md., and White Plains, N.Y., to Roseville, N.Y., and Palo Alto, Calif.

     

  • & Other Stories, H&M’s sibling brand, to SoHo

    New York — & Other Stories, a sibling brand to H&M, has leased a 10,915-sq.-ft. space at 575 Broadway in the SoHo district of Manhattan, according to RKF, which represented the landlord, 575 Broadway Associates LP, in the transaction. Cole Schotz provided legal counsel. CBRE represented & Other Stories.

  • Simon completes spin-off of Washington Prime

    Indianapolis — Simon Property Group has completed the separation of Washington Prime Group Inc., which is now an independent public company that will be traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “WPG.”

    Washington Prime holds interests in 98 retail assets, including the strip center business formerly owned by Simon.
     

     

  • Cadence McShane completes mall redo in Denton, Texas

    Addison, Texas Cadence McShane Construction Company has completed the renovation and new construction assignment at Golden Triangle Mall in Denton, Texas, on behalf of owners GTM Development Ltd., a joint venture created by Cencor and The MGHerring Group.

  • Macy’s to anchor new mall in Hawaii

    Cincinnati -- Macy’s announced an agreement for Macy’s to anchor the new Ka Makana Ali‘i in Kapolei in West O‘ahu, Hawaii. Current plans call for the 103,000-sq.-ft., one-level store to open in mid-2016.

  • Opry Mills adds three professionals

    Nashville, Tenn. — Opry Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in Tennessee, has expanded its staff with the addition of three new professions. Natalie Smailis has been named marketing/tourism coordinator. Jamie Phillips will serve as guest services manager. Billy Patton will step into the role of director of operations.
