  • Five Guys opens at Streets of St. Charles

    St. Charles, Mo. -- Peoria, Ill.-based Cullinan Properties said that Five Guys Burgers and Fries has opened has opened at the Streets of St. Charles, located in St. Charles (St. Louis), Mo. – the burger brand’s first in the county.

  • Two eateries join NewPark Mall

    Newark, Calif. -- NewPark Mall in Newark, Calif., announced the upcoming addition of two new food court eateries: Taqueria La Tita and Crepe Bar are slated to open in August. Taqueria La Tita will open in 613 sq. ft. and La Crepe will measure 666 sq. ft.

    NewPark Mall is anchored by Macy's, Sears, J.C. Penney and Burlington Coat Factory.
     

  • Big Lots to anchor Bayshore Plaza

    Barnegat, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that Big Lots is slated to open a new anchor store at Bayshore Plaza in Barnegat, N.J., in August.

    The 31,612-sq.-ft. store will fill a space formerly occupied by A&P.

    Additional tenants include McDonald’s, AT&T Wireless, Barnegat Pharmacy, and a mix of local restaurants and services.

    Levin serves as leasing and managing agent for Bayshore Plaza.
     

  • Report: Aurora Capital Associates interested in Daffys real estate

    New York -- Aurora Capital Associates, a real estate investment firm, is reported to be acquiring New York-based discount retailer Daffys with plans to sublease its stores, according to Crain’s New York.

    Daffy’s, which operates 19 stores, in July announced plans to liquidate by October.

    The company has several prime real estate sites, eight of which are located in prime shopping area of Manhattan.

    Real Estate Weekly first reported the news concerning Daffy’s possible acquisition.

  • Best Buy plans lifestyle center location

    El Paso, Texas -- Best Buy Co. has signed a lease to open a 37,740-sq.-ft. store at The Fountains at Farah, a new power-lifestyle shopping center located in El Paso, Texas.

    The shopping center, a Centergy Retail project, is under construction and planned to open in 600,000 sq. ft. in fall 2013.
     

  • Natural Grocers makes Arizona debut with Flagstaff opening

    Denver -- National Grocers by Vitamin Cottage said Tuesday that its first Arizona store – in Flagstaff – has opened, and will be joined by two additional stores located in Sedona and Prescott.

    The privately owned regional grocery chain, which operates 56 stores in 12 states, incorporated environmentally friendly elements into the Flagstaff store. Energy-efficient features include motion light sensors, 100% post-consumer content tiles, polished concrete flooring and commercial-grade LED lights.  And the chain is 100% shopping bag free.

    Chicago -- General Growth Properties said Friday it has established a partnership with online charity organization DonorsChoose.org as part of GGP’s Celebrate Schools! philanthropic initiative.

    The partnership is designed to assist local schools and teachers with supplies and funding.

  • Planet Fitness opens at Capitol Plaza

    Ewing, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that Planet Fitness has opened a 17,380-sq.-ft. facility at Capitol Plaza, located in Ewing, N.J.

    The 357,000-sq. ft. center is leased and managed by Levin Management.
     

  • A&G Realty brings on two partners

    Melville, N.Y. -- Commercial real estate consulting, advisory and investment group A&G Realty Partners announced that Peter Lynch and Andrew Margolick have joined the firm as partners.

    Lynch joins A&G from DJM Realty, where he was a principal and senior managing director, and Margolick was president of his own firm, ARM Consulting, as well as a former VP at Hilco Real Estate.
