  • Ross Dress For Less to open at Millcreek Mall

    Erie, Pa. -- Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Co. said that Ross Dress for Less will open a store at the Millcreek Mall Complex near Erie, Pa.

    The new store will open in the Millcreek Pavilion section of the complex this fall. It will occupy more than 25,000 sq. ft. next to Old Navy.

    Millcreek Mall Complex, located in Millcreek Township, comprises more than two million sq. ft. of shopping, lodging, dining and entertainment.
     

  • Ulta to open at Sandusky Mall

    Sandusky, Ohio -- Youngstown, Ohio-based The Cafaro Co. said Tuesday that cosmetics retailer Ulta will open a store at its Sandusky Mall property, located in Sandusky, Ohio.

    Ulta’s new 11,000-sq.-ft. store is slated to open in the fourth quarter, bringing the Pavilion section of the complex to 100% occupancy.

    The 1+ million-sq.-ft. mall is anchored by Macy’s, Elder-Beerman, Sears, J.C. Penney, Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods, and features more than 90 other specialty shops. 

  • Jones Lang LaSalle expands retail services in Florida

    Miami -- Jones Lang LaSalle is enhancing the retail services it offers by adding boots on the ground in select local markets across the country, beginning with Florida. The firm will intensify its resources at the local level, leveraging its retail tenant solutions (RTS) capabilities – formerly known as Corporate Retail Solutions – to provide local market retail tenant representation services.

  • Ross Stores makes executive appointment in real estate

    Pleasanton, Calif. -- Ross Stores announced that Glen Boyer, previously VP real estate market research, has been named group VP real estate market research & property management.

  • Starbucks ramping up expansion in China

    New York -- Starbucks Coffee Co. is planning to a major push into smaller cities in China, with a target of 1,500 stores in more than 70 Chinese cities by 2015, Bloomberg reported.

    China will become the chain’s second largest market outside the United States, the report said. Currently, Starbucks has about 500 outlets in China and operates in 48 cities.

  • Freedom Crossing, first open-air center on military base, announces new tenants

    El Paso, Texas -- Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, the first-ever, open-air shopping center to be part of a United States military installation, announced that A'Gaci, O'shoes, and Texas Roadhouse will soon open at the retail destination. Comprised of more than 461,000 sq. ft. of gross leasable area, Freedom Crossing is one of the only shopping centers to be built in the United States in recent years, and the first opportunity for businesses to privately operate within an open-air center on a U.S. military installation

  • Trader Joe's to open three Houston-area stores in 2012

    Houston -- A report in the Houston Chronicle said that grocer Trader Joe’s is opening two additional Houston-area locations — one in the Memorial area and one in Montrose.

    In November Trader Joe’s announced its first planned Houston area store in The Woodlands Crossing Shopping Center.

    All three stores are slated to open this year. The Memorial-area store will be 14,000 sq. ft., the Montrose store will be 14,500 sq. ft. and the store at The Woodlands will be 13,500 sq. ft.

  • Target confirms location of 12 Quebec debut stores

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. announced Thursday the location of its first 12 stores in Quebec. As previously announced, Target purchased the leasehold interests of 189 sites currently operated by Zellers Inc., and plans to open 125 to 135 stores in Canada, the majority of which will open in 2013.

    Target said it intends to announce additional Quebec store locations in the coming months.
