  • A trio of tenants opens as part of phase two of MarketStreet Lynnfield

    Boston -- Co-developers WS Development and National Development announced the openings of the first three businesses in phase two of MarketStreet Lynnfield, located in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Tuck’s Candy Factory opened in February , followed by Hanna Andersson and Gap, scheduled to open the week of March 9.

    “We have had an incredible response from the community since we opened nearly 20 months ago,” said Nanci Horn, general manager of MarketStreet Lynnfield.  

  • H&M expands in Texas with Golden Triangle Mall location

    Denton, Texas -- Fashion-forward retailer H&M will open a new store at Golden Triangle Mall, in Denton, Texas. The 23,000-sq.-ft. location is slated to open fall 2015, bringing its Texas store count to 15.

    Golden Triangle Mall has recently undergone a redevelopment, with new entrances and facades, center court, performance area and other enhancements. The 765,000-sq.-ft. enclosed mall is owned by GTM Development, a partnership between The McHerring Group and Cencor Realty Services, and is anchored by J.C. Penney, Dillards, Macy’s and Sears.

  • Express to open 30 outlet stores in 2015; division exceeding expectations

    New York -- Express is going full-steam ahead with its outlet-store strategy, with plans to open 30-plus stores in 2015. The retailer ended the year with 41 outlet stores in operation.

    “Together they generated approximately $55 million of incremental revenue, far surpassing our initial estimate,” said Paul Dascoli, senior VP and CFO, Express, on the chain’s quarterly earnings call.    

  • Sheetz to open 30 units in 2015 as convenience store channel continues to expand

    Alexandria, Va. -- The ranks of the nation’s convenience stores continue to grow, increasing to 152,794 stores at year end, up nearly 1% from the year prior, according to the 2015 NACS/Nielsen Convenience Industry Store Count. And 2015 is expected to be another busy year: Pennsylvania-based Sheetz plans to open 30 locations in 2015. The chain, which recently opened its 500th location, has said it now sees the potential to double in size.

  • Old Navy to open at Bayshore Town Center

    Glendale, Wis. -- Olshan Properties announced that Old Navy will open a store at Bayshore Town Center, in Glendale, Wisconsin. Old Navy will occupy a 17,025-sq.-ft. space that formerly housed Applebee’s, which has relocated to a larger location within the center.
         

  • Triple Five wants to build largest mall in the country on 200 acres in Miami-Dade

    New York -- Triple Five Group,  the company that owns and manages the nation’s largest shopping center, Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., and the largest one in North America, West Edmonton Mall, Alberta (Canada), is looking to build its largest center yet. The company has proposed a sprawling mega-mall and entertainment destination near Miami Lakes in Northwest Miami-Dade County. As outlined in an article in the Miami Herald, the project would include a Legoland and an indoor ski slope.

  • Juicy Couture plans global expansion

    New York -- Juicy Couture, which was acquired by Authentic Brands Group in 2013, may no longer be a coveted brand in the United States, but it is still has great appeal in foreign markets. The company expects to open 133 stores (through its various licensing partners) during the next five years, according to Women's Wear Daily.

    Juicy will open 31 international locations in eight countries this year, the report said. Three of the countries — India, South Africa and Azerbaijan — will be new market entries for the brand.

  • Ross Stores opening 90 stores in 2015

    Dublin, Calif. -- Ross Stores recently opened 32 Ross Dress for Less stores and five dd’s Discounts locations across 15 different states. The openings are part of the off-price retailer’s 2015 expansion plans to open a total of approximately 90 stores in 2015 (70 Ross and 20 dd’s Discounts).

  • Bonobos to open 4,000-sq.-ft. flagship in Manhattan

    New York -- Bonobos, the online-driven men’s clothing brand, keeps expanding its physical presence. The company announced plans to opens its largest location to date, in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. The 4,000-sq.-ft. “Guideshop (which is how Bonbos refers to its brick-and-mortar spaces) is slated to open in June. It will be the brand’s seventeenth location nationwide and fourth in New York City, following the expected openings of Guideshops in Newport Beach, California, and Brookfield Place, New York City, in March.

  • Baker Katz acquires former Baytown Seafood site

    Houston -- Baker Katz, an X Team International partner and full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm, announced the acquisition of the former Baytown Seafood establishment situated on 30,000 sq. ft. of land in Houston.

    The property is located at the cross streets of I-10 East and Haden Road. Baker Katz plans to demolish the current building to construct an 8,000-sq.-ft. building occupied by a combination of restaurant and retail tenants.
