  • Big Smoke Burger leases first New York location

    New York -- Canadian burger chain Big Smoke Burger has leased its first New York City location at 70 Seventh Ave., between West 14th and West 15th Streets in Chelsea, according to Winick Realty Group who represented Group 868 Inc., the landlord in the transaction.

    The 2,380-sq.-ft. property includes a 500-sq.-ft. basement and an 880-sq.-ft. outdoor courtyard.

    Big Smoke Burger plans to open the restaurant within the next four months. RKF represented Big Smoke Burger.

     

  • Stirling chief named VP of ICSC Southern Division

    Covington, La. -- Marty Mayer, president and CEO of Stirling Properties, won election as VP of the International Council of Shopping Centers’ Southern Division at RECon in May.

    As a divisional VP, Mayer will also sit on the Government Relations Advisory Committee. In addition, he currently serves on the Executive Committee of ICSC’s Worldwide Board of Trustees.

     

  • Blo/Out Blow Dry Bar blows into Willow Grove Park

    Willow Grove, Pa. -- Blo/Out Blow Dry Bar will open its third salon in Willow Grove Park this summer. The new, no-appointment-necessary, no-cut, no-color blow dry bar brand from Philadelphia has signed up for 1,300 sq. ft.

    Blo/Out Blow Dry Bar stylists wash and dry hair and blow it straight, wavy, curly or up. Customers choose from eight styles. Additional services include scalp massages, makeup, custom styling and a new 20-minute dry styling treatment.

     

  • CBRE pours Seattle’s Best Coffee into North Texas

    Dallas -- Seattle’s Best Coffee is opening new operations in North Texas, according to CBRE. So far, 10 stores have opened throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area with more scheduled to open later this year.

    CBRE Retail Brokerage provided market evaluation, mapping and demographic analysis, site selection and lease negotiation. CBRE Project Management provided construction services.

    The 10 new stores are located throughout Burleson, Dallas, Fort Worth, Lancaster, McKinney and Rockwall.

     

  • Jones Lang LaSalle brokers Hancock Village sale

    Richmond, Va. -- Jones Lang LaSalle has closed the sale of phase I of Hancock Village on behalf of Edco in Richmond, Va.’s Chesterfield submarket.

    Cole Real Estate Investments purchased the 153,853-sq.-ft. shopping center anchored by Dick’s Sporting Goods and Hobby Lobby. A Walmart Supercenter shadow-anchors the development.

    JLL said the center is 100% leased.

     

  • Glimcher to buy WestShore Plaza and sell Lloyd Center

    Columbus, Ohio -- Glimcher Realty Trust has announced plains to purchase its remaining interest in WestShore Plaza in Tampa, Fla. and to sell its interest in Lloyd Center in Portland, Ore. Glimcher holds a 40% interest in a joint venture with Blackstone Real Estate Partners VI that owns both properties.

  • Ross Realty and RMC join forces

    Tampa, Fla. -- RMC Property Group and The Ross Realty Group have merged. Effective June 3, Ross Realty’s investment sales and office leasing team has become RMC Ross Realty, and the Ross Realty property management team has become RMC Property Group.

    The merged company oversees the management, leasing and sales of more than 8.4 million sq. ft. of commercial property and more than 900 tenants.

  • High-end home retailer Fixtures Living to open first East Coast location

    New York -- Fixtures Living, which specializes in high-end kitchen, bath, outdoor and lifestyle appliances, will open its first East Coast location at Lenox Marketplace in Atlanta. Additional stores are scheduled to open in Glendale, Calif., Chicago and Dallas

    The emerging retailer, whose stores average 27,000 sq. ft., currently has three locations in California, in Costa Mesa, Rancho Mirage and San Diego.
