  • Glimcher acquires One Nineteen open-air center for $67.5 million

    Leawood, Kan. -- Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust said Wednesday it has completed the acquisition of One Nineteen, an outdoor retail center located in Leawood, Kan.

    One Nineteen is adjacent to Glimcher’s Town Center Plaza and will add approximately 165,000 sq. ft. of GLA to the combined property.  Tenant sales at One Nineteen average more than $900 per sq. ft., and the center is currently 93% leased featuring Kansas City’s first and only Crate & Barrel and lululemon athletica, as well as an Apple store.

  • Caribou Coffee opens 100th international location, plans to ramp up store count

    Minneapolis -- Caribou Coffee Co. said Wednesday it has opened its 100th international operating location, located in Istanbul, Turkey. The new store, which opened May 10, is in partnership with master franchisee Al Sayer Group and Turkey's Yildiz Holding, and is Caribou's sixth store in Turkey.

    Al Sayer Group currently operates 89 of Caribou's 100 international locations in Turkey, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  • American F+B to open at West 7th project

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Cypress Equities said that Consilient Restaurants will open an American F+B restaurant at West 7th, the mixed-use project in Fort Worth, Texas.

    The 6,215-sq.-ft. restaurant is slated to open in early 2013 and will provide seating for approximately 200.

    West 7th offers retail, entertainment, office and residential in a 13-acre setting.
     

  • Claim Jumper joins Opry Mills outlet center

    Nashville, Tenn. -- Tennessee’s largest outlet and value retail center, Opry Mills, has added a Claim Jumper restaurant to its dining options.

    The new restaurant, which is making its market debut, recently opened at Entry 7 near the entertainment stage and joins other eateries such as Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Dave & Buster’s, Chuy’s, Rainforest Café, Aquarium Restaurant and a nine-unit food court.
     

  • Publix opening completes Boynton Lakes Plaza redevelopment

    Boynton Beach, Fla. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based shopping center owner Regency Centers said it has completed the redevelopment of Boynton Lakes Plaza, a 117,124-sq.-ft. neighborhood center in Boynton Beach, Fla., which included the addition of a 45,000-sq.-ft. Publix.

    The new grocery anchor relocated from an undersized store in a nearby center and is slated to open on June 9.

  • The Organic Bedroom to open at Sutton Square

    Raleigh, N.C. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said that The Organic Bedroom will open a 1,300-sq.-ft. store at Sutton Square, in Raleigh, N.C.

    Specializing in mattresses made of organic and natural materials, the store is slated to open for business in June 2012.

    The 101,025-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by a 24,167-sq.-ft. Fresh Market alongside national retailers such as Pet Supermarket, Rite Aid and Performance Bicycle.
     

  • 7-Eleven to open on Upper East Side

    New York -- Winick Realty Group said that 7-Eleven has continued its plans for expansion in the New York market by leasing a new 2,300-sq.-ft. storefront at 1235 Second Avenue, on the corner of East 65th Street.

  • Delia’s and RCS team on real estate

    New York -- Real estate advisory firm RCS Real Estate Advisors said Wednesday that it has been retained by teen retailer Delia’s to evaluate the performance of its real estate portfolio and serve as the outsourced real estate department for all retail locations. 

  • Report: M.A.C to open Fifth Avenue flagship

    New York -- M.A.C. Cosmetics will open a flagship on a prime stretch of New York City’s Fifth Avenue, according to various reports.

    The company will open up shop in November, on Fifth Avenue near 54th Street, in a space that formerly housed Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Spa, according to Racked.com.
     

  • Ashley Furniture Industries to open 50 bedding stores

    New York -- Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. plans to open about 50 bedding stores, under the Zzz's By Ashley banner, in 2012, according to Furniture Today. The sleep shops will average about 4,500 sq. ft. each, and will offer a wide selection of mattresses and sleep accessories.

    “I think we can open several thousand in the next 10 years,” Ben Thorud, the Ashley executive who is heading the new initiative, told Furniture Today.
