  • Sleep Experts to open new Fort Worth store

    Dallas -- Cypress Equities said Wednesday that Sleep Experts has signed a lease to occupy the remaining portion of the company’s development that currently houses Freebirds World Burrito at the northeast corner of West Seventh Street and Foch Street in Fort Worth, Texas.

    The 3,035-sq.-ft. store is expected to open in May and marks the third in Fort Worth.

     

  • Six new tenants to open at Pembroke Mall in 2013

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Divaris Real Estate announced Wednesday that six new stores totaling 57,434 sq. ft. will open at the company’s Pembroke Mall property, located in Virginia Beach, Va.

  • Go Greenly will open at Riverfront Plaza

    Hackensack, N.J. -- Crossroads Cos. said that frozen yogurt franchise RCD Frozen Treats will open a 1,750-sq.-ft. store at Riverfront Plaza, located in Hackensack, N.J.

    RCD Treats is a franchise of Go Greenly.

    Riverfront Plaza is a 130,000-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center anchored by ShopRite. Other national retailers and service providers at the center include Chase Bank, GNC, H&R Block, KFC, Radio Shack, Subway, Supercuts, Taco Bell and Verizon Wireless.

  • Jones Lang LaSalle closes sale of Red Lion Plaza

    Philadelphia -- Jones Lang LaSalle announced Wednesday that it has closed the sale of Red Lion Plaza for Onyx Equities and Invesco Real Estate. A private buyer purchased the 229,204-sq.-ft. retail shopping center that is located in northeast Phildelphia, is 95% occupied, and anchored by Best Buy, Staples, American Signature and Planet Fitness.

  • Smack Sportswear opens first flagship

    Torrance, Calif. -- Smack Sportswear, manufacturer of indoor and beach volleyball apparel, announced that its first flagship officially opened its doors on Feb. 23.

    The store, in Huntington Beach, Calif., sits inside of the former Huntington Beach Training Center, which has since been renamed the "Smack Center." It houses eight indoor volleyball courts and three Futsal (indoor football) courts. Smack's flagship store offers curb appeal to the thousands of coaches, teams, and visitors to the facility.

  • Walmart in line to open 500 Neighborhood Market stores by fiscal 2016

    New York -- Walmart will open as many as 115 small-format stores this year, according to Bill Simon, president and CEO of Walmart U.S.  

    Simon discussed the chain’s store portfolio during a presentation at Raymond James Institutional Investors conference. He noted that Walmart’s smaller-format stores (below 60,000 sq. ft.) are making inroads against dollar stores, supermarkets and drug stores and will play a key role in the company's future.  

  • Kohl’s opens nine stores on Wednesday, 30 remodels on tap

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl’s reported Wednesday the simultaneous grand openings of nine new stores in seven states, bringing the retailer’s total store count to 1,155.

    Stores open Wednesday in Decatur, Ala., Danville, Ill., Ames, Iowa, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Minot, N.D., Sherwood, Ore., Hermitage, Pa., Spring Township, Pa. and Denton, Texas.

    “As Kohl’s continues to grow, investing in our stores remains a priority,” said Kevin Mansell, president and CEO.

  • Fashion Outlets of Chicago announces tenant lineup

    New York -- Fashion Outlets of Chicago, a new mall due to open in August near O'Hare International Airport, on Tuesday announced its tenant list.

    The two-level, 530,000-sq.-ft. center will be anchored by a Bloomingdale's outlet, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and Forever 21.
