  • Present Value Properties negotiates six Menchie's leases in California

    Tustin, Calif. -- Present Value Properties said it has represented Menchie's in six California lease transactions for the frozen yogurt purveyor.

    A Menchie's franchisee signed a five-year lease for 1,637 sq. ft. in Orange, in a center anchored by Petco and Michaels. Menchie's will open in first quarter 2012.

    In Whittier, Menchie’s will open a 1,250-sq.-ft. shop at Santa Fe Springs Plaza in early 2012. The center is anchored by Food For Less, and is currently undergoing a remodel.

  • DLC signs four new anchor leases

    Tarrytown, N.Y. -- DLC Management Corp. said Tuesday that it has executed four new anchor deals over the last three-month period.

    In Jonesboro, Ga., PJS Market will open an 80,160-sq.-ft. retail mini-mall at Tara Crossing Shopping Center, in a space vacated just four months earlier. This is PJS Market’s second location in Metro Atlanta and is expected to open by the end of the year.

  • Fusion Performing Arts Center opens at Voorhees Town Center

    Voorhees, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust announced that Fusion Performing Arts Center has opened at Voorhees Town Center, located in Voorhees, N.J.

    The new 6,346-sq.-ft. center, which features such events as dance workshops, theater productions and local band performances, is located on the lower level across from Tilt Studio.

  • Motherhood Maternity opens at Waterford Commons

    Waterford, Conn. -- Brixmor Property Group said that Motherhood Maternity has opened a 1,500-sq.-ft. store at Waterford Commons, located in Waterford, Conn.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, owns Waterford Commons.

  • Athleta makes Philadelphia-area debut

    Philadelphia -- Metro Commercial Real Estate said that Athleta has opened its first store in the Philadelphia area at 1722 Walnut Street in the heart of Center City. 

    The 4,000-sq.-ft. store, which is a division of Gap Inc., opened on Nov. 9. Kaiserman Cos. is the landlord of 1722 Walnut Street, a strip of high-end retail along Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Row.
     

  • Crocs unveils new store concept

    Niwot, Colo. -- Casual footwear-retailer Crocs debuted its new concept store, with locations in Mall of America, Bloomington, Minn.; Barton Creek, Austin, Tex.; and Streets at Southpoint, Durham, N.C.

  • Gap debuts in Poland

    New York City -- Gap Inc. on Thursday opened its first store in Poland, in Warsaw’s Arkadia mall.

    Gap and its Polish franchise partner, Ultimate Fashion, are planning to open more stores in Poland in 2012 and expand to other countries in the region.
     

  • Fannie May Fine Chocolates in 62-store franchise deal

    Carle Place, N.Y. -- 1-800-Flowers.com announced Tuesday the signing of a 45-store franchise development agreement for its Fannie May Fine Chocolates division with GB Chocolates. The agreement calls for 45 new Fannie May franchise stores beginning in December 2011, with all open and operating by year-end 2014.

    The first three stores under the agreement are slated to open in Minnesota in time for the Christmas holiday. The agreement provides exclusive development rights for several Midwestern states as well as specific cities in Florida and Ohio.

  • Levin tenant survey: Most are optimistic for the holidays

    North Plainfield, N.J. -- Shopping center owner and manager Levin Management Corp., in its annual pre-holiday survey, found that more than a third of its retail tenants predict 2011 sales will be higher than 2010’s, while just 18.9% project a drop in sales for the 2011 holiday season.

    The remaining 44.2% expect this year’s holiday sales to mirror last year’s.

  • New retail concept for kids makes Chicago debut

    New York City -- A new retail concept, Wonder!, has opened it first location in Deerfield, Ill. The 135,000-sq.-ft. space is intended as a one-stop shopping solution, focused on children ages birth to seven years. It combines a broad selection of product (including baby gear, furniture, bedding, apparel, and toys) with an array of experiential elements.
