  • Lime Fresh Mexican Grill to open at Penn Quarter

    Washington, D.C. -- Douglas Development announced that Lime Fresh Mexican Grill will open a 2,000-sq.-ft. restaurant in the Douglas Development-owned property at 726 7th Street in Penn Quarter.

    The space is currently occupied by Potbelly Sandwich Works and is scheduled to open as Lime Fresh Mexican Grill in mid-2013.
     

     

  • Essensuals London opens at Cherry Hill Mall

    Cherry Hill, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said that upscale salon Essensuals London has officially opened at its Cherry Hill Mall property in Cherry Hill, N.J.

    The 1,530-sq.-ft. salon – the company’s first on the East Coast – joins the recently opened North Face and Henri Bendel. Pottery Barn is set to open this fall.

  • Trio of new tenants to open at Lake Shore Plaza

    Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y. -- Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that it has added three new tenants, totaling 11, 501 sq. ft., to the Lake Shore Plaza II Shopping Center, located in Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

    AutoZone has leased 7,184 sq. ft., Verizon leased 1,817 sq. ft., and Century 21 leased 2,500 sq. ft.

     

  • McDonald’s to open new restaurant at Springfield Plaza

    Springfield, Mass. -- Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that it has arranged for a 2,500-sq.-ft. lease for McDonald’s located in the Springfield Plaza in Springfield, Mass.

    Springfield Plaza is a 550,000-sq.-ft. center anchored by Kmart, Rocky's, TJ Maxx, Ocean State Job Lot, Savers, Stop & Shop and Entertainment Cinema. McDonald’s will be locating on a site formerly occupied by KFC. Construction is expected to start shortly, said Charter.

     

  • Hull Storey Gibson acquires Mount Berry Square Mall

    Rome, Ga. -- Augusta, Ga.-based Hull Storey Gibson Companies announced its acquisition of Mount Berry Square Mall in Rome, Ga.

    The 476,778-sq.-ft. mall is anchored by Belk, J.C. Penney and Sears.

  • DDR completes $2.1 billion of strategic transactions year to date

    Beachwood, Ohio -- DDR Corp. announced Monday the acquisition of $328 million of prime assets and the disposition of $12 million of non-prime assets during the quarter.

    Year to date, the company closed $2 billion of acquisitions, including the joint venture with Blackstone's flagship real estate fund, and disposed of $137 million of non-prime assets.

    As of the third quarter, DDR said it has raised gross common equity capital of $435 million through the issuance of 31.7 million new common shares to fund investments and lower leverage.

  • Ikea to open store in Merriam, Kansas

    Conshohocken, Pa. -- Ikea announced it is submitting plans to the city of Merriam, Kansas, for a Kansas City-area store that would increase the Swedish retailer’s presence in the Midwestern United States.  

  • Discover Mills to be renamed Sugarloaf Mills

    Lawrenceville, Ga. -- Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group announced its Discover Mills outlet mall destination in Lawrenceville (Atlanta), Ga., will be renamed Sugarloaf Mills.

    The new brand links the center with Sugarloaf Parkway, where it is situated. New exterior signage, website, brochures and other promotional materials will reflect the new name starting in October.
     

     

  • Cheeburger Cheeburger opens at New Britain Village Square

    Chalfont, Pa. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 2,400-sq.-ft. Cheeburger Cheeburger recently opened at New Britain Village Square, located in Chalfont, Pa.

    Brixmor, which is based in New York City, is the owner of the New Britain Village Square shopping center.
     

  • DRA Advisors acquires Streets of Brentwood

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners said it represented Brentwood Specialty Center, LLC in the sale of The Streets of Brentwood to a partnership between New York City-based DRA Advisors and RED Development out of Kansas City.
